They become so familiar with the real bill so that when they see a counterfeit they will be able to recognize it. This is your charge. He was beautiful but it went to his head. This pride got him kicked out of heaven. Maybe this is the reason why God hates pride so much. Despite his glorious past, what awaits Satan is eternal judgment. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown.
They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. He knows this is his end and what awaits him. His goal, therefore, is to try to take as many people with him as possible into this place that was created for him Matthew The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy… — John Satan is that he is very singular in his motives. His first desire is to rob you of eternal life by keeping you from understanding the truth of the gospel.
He does not want people to really know the truth of who Jesus is and turn to him for salvation. He knows that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation and that Jesus is the only way back to the father. He works hard to keep this message from people because he knows this is truly their only hope. His work is to keep people from getting to that point.
They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. Satanic influence is everywhere. Think of all the people who are blinded by their unbelief. He is the one and only true God; there is no other Isaiah His miracles show us He has everything under His control and that we can fully trust Him.
If we doubt the miracles, then we may begin to doubt the entire Bible—putting our faith in jeopardy. This is exactly what Satan wants us to do! The miracles in the Bible did really happen. From God's magnificent Creation of all things to Jesus bringing Himself back to life, we can be assured everything actually happened.
Proof of God's miracles are not only confirmed in the Bible, but they're visible all around us and throughout history. People placed faith in Jesus because they witnessed His miracles John Vivian loves learning, studying the Word of God, and helping others in their walk with Christ. God: Watch this! You win, God! So the moral of the story is that God is vain, cruel and gullible. A real man God would have had the self-regard, and would have loved his loyal subjects enough, to tell Satan to fuck off. Satan has merely proved it to the reader. At great cost, obvs. This is not muslim-bashing. At most it is Muhammed-bathing because that dude said a lot of stupid things about Satan.
However, M also said that when people ask about things like inherent contradictions in the scripture, that curiosity comes from Satan. So I guess Satan is a pretty clever one. PS: rewarding Abraham for passing the test, by Abe refusing to follow the command, is not a good characteristic of a god, in my book. No, if Abraham refused he would have failed the test. He was going to do it until a messenger from God stopped him, thus passing the test.
Is the devil the same as satan and that other name beginning with B that i am too lazy to look up the correct spelling? Try looking from the perspective of the original authors. The claims of omnibenevolence would come later as more recent theologians needed to combat those nosy, Enlightenment-era thinkers who started asking why anyone would want to worship a cosmic sociopath. They knew their rulers were full of shit.
In the Book of Job, the titular character was a super-righteous man. He never sinned, but made sin offerings in case he accidently sinned. He was prosperous, with a huge farm, ten children, and servants. Satan accused Job, saying that he was only righteous because God had blessed him. If he lost his home and children, Satan said, he would curse God. So God and Satan made a bet. So Satan made another bet with God: afflict Job with painful boils, and he would currse God.
So Satan inflicted Job with boils. Job still did not curse God, though he did curse the day he was born. Interestingly, Job is thought to be the oldest book in the Bible. There is no hint that Satan even rebelled against God in that book, but God did ask Satan where he had been like He was not omniscient. Rather like the US in What did the horny red myth do?
